Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on the Site and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page.

Personal information we collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked with you. We collect the following categories, depending on how you interact with us:

  • Contact details — name, address, phone number, email address.
  • Order information — billing and shipping address, payment confirmation (we do not store full card numbers; payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other PCI-compliant processors), products purchased, order history, subscription status.
  • Account information — username, password, security questions, loyalty balance, subscription preferences.
  • Customer support information — the content of messages, emails, chats and reviews you send us.
  • Shopping information — products you view, add to cart, purchase or save; discount codes used; referral source.
  • Device and usage information — IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, time on page, clicks, scrolls and interactions with page elements, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie and pixel identifiers.
  • Marketing preferences — your email and SMS consent status and the campaigns you engage with.
  • Inferences — product interests we infer from the above (for example, that you are interested in a wellness category) in order to personalize offers.

Health-related information. Our products are dietary supplements. The products you browse or buy, and any quiz or survey answers you choose to give us, may reveal information about your health interests or conditions. We treat this as sensitive information. Please see our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for how we handle it and the choices you have.

Sources of personal information

  • Directly from you — when you create an account, place an order, subscribe, enter a promotion, complete a quiz or form, leave a review, or contact support.
  • Automatically — through cookies, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies when you use the Services (see Tracking technologies).
  • From service providers and partners — such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment processors, shipping carriers, fraud-prevention services, advertising and analytics partners, and review platforms.
  • From marketplaces where you may also buy our products (for example Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart), limited to what those platforms share with sellers.

How we use personal information

  • Providing the Services — processing and shipping orders, managing subscriptions and renewals, processing payments and refunds, creating and maintaining your account, sending order and shipping confirmations, providing customer support.
  • Marketing and advertising — sending promotional email and SMS (with your consent where required), showing you our ads on other websites and apps, measuring the performance of our advertising, and building audiences of people with similar interests. You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time via Your Privacy Choices.
  • Analytics and site improvement — understanding how visitors use the Site so we can fix errors, improve navigation, and test page designs.
  • Security and fraud prevention — detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, abuse and security incidents.
  • Legal compliance — complying with tax, consumer-protection, product-safety and other legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose we describe at the time we collect the information.

Cookies, pixels and tracking technologies

Like most online stores, we use cookies (small files placed on your device), pixels and tags (small pieces of code that send information to us or our partners when a page loads or you take an action), software development kits, and similar technologies. Some are set by us ("first-party") and some by third parties ("third-party"). They fall into these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required to run the Site: shopping cart, checkout, login, security, fraud prevention, consent preferences, load balancing. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics and performance — help us understand how the Site is used and where it breaks.
  • Advertising / targeting — allow us and our advertising partners to show you relevant ads on other sites and apps, limit how often you see an ad, and measure whether our ads led to a visit or purchase. Information shared through these technologies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or "targeted advertising" under certain state laws. You can opt out at any time at Your Privacy Choices.
  • Site experience and personalization — remember preferences, run A/B tests, show reviews and pop-up offers.

Third parties that receive information through tracking technologies

The following partners may receive device and usage information, shopping information and, in some cases, hashed (irreversibly encoded) contact details from the Site. Each partner's own privacy policy governs its use of the data. This list is reviewed regularly; partners may be added or removed as our operations change.

Session replay. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand where pages break. Clarity is configured to mask all typed text and form fields, does not run on checkout pages, and loads only where analytics is permitted under your privacy choices. We do not use any other session-recording tools.

How to control tracking. (1) Use Your Privacy Choices to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising; (2) turn on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser — we honor it automatically as an opt-out for that browser (and for your account if we can associate them); (3) where a consent banner is shown in your region (currently California, Washington, the EEA and the UK), decline or manage preferences — non-essential advertising and analytics tags do not load there until you accept; (4) use your browser's cookie controls or the opt-out tools at aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org. Blocking cookies may affect Site functionality. Other than Global Privacy Control, we do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry standard for them.

How we disclose personal information

  • Service providers and processors that act on our behalf — hosting, payment processing, shipping and fulfillment (including ShipHero, ShipStation and Zenventory), customer support, email/SMS delivery, fraud prevention, analytics, data storage. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Advertising and marketing partners listed above, to serve and measure ads. Depending on where you live, this is a "sale," "sharing" or "targeted advertising" you may opt out of via Your Privacy Choices.
  • At your direction — for example, when you post a review, use social media features, or ask us to share information.
  • Affiliates within our corporate group, including the Clean Health app, under this policy.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy or sale of assets.
  • Legal — to comply with law, subpoenas, court orders and regulatory requests; to enforce our terms; to protect the rights, property and safety of us, our customers and others.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services to provide and improve the Services for us and for you. Information you submit to the Services may be shared with Shopify, and Shopify may use it to provide and improve its services and for its own purposes — including, unless you opt out, to support personalized advertising across Shopify merchants ("Shopify Audiences"). Learn more at Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Shopify Audiences for this store via Your Privacy Choices; Shopify also offers a privacy portal for requests about your Shopify account.

Third-party websites and links

The Site may link to websites and services we do not operate (marketplaces, social networks, payment providers). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

Children's data

The Services are not intended for children under 18 and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security and retention

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls and PCI-compliant payment processing. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee security. We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes above — generally the life of your account or subscription plus the period required for tax, accounting, chargeback and legal-claim purposes (typically seven years for transaction records) — and then delete or de-identify it. Website analytics and advertising identifiers are retained according to each partner's retention schedule, generally 2 to 26 months.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know/access the personal information we hold about you and how we use and disclose it; delete it; correct inaccurate information; receive a portable copy; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; limit the use of sensitive information; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

How to exercise them. Opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising at Your Privacy Choices (no account required; applies to the browser and device you use, and to your account if we can associate them). Browsers sending the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opted out automatically. For access, deletion, correction or portability, email support@cleannutra.com with the subject "Privacy Request", or write to the address below. We will verify your identity using information already associated with your account or order (for example, matching email address and recent order number) and respond within 45 days, extendable once by 45 days with notice. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require proof of the agent's authority and may verify your identity directly. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with "Appeal" in the subject; we will respond within 45 days. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.

Marketing communications. Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any email; reply STOP to any marketing text to opt out of SMS. You will still receive transactional messages about your orders and subscriptions.
